Knee Pain

Knee Pain Relief at Lifetime Health and Wellness

For knee pain relief caused by osteoarthritis, we offer Hyaluronic Acid (HLA) Joint Fluid Therapy. If your pain hasn’t responded to physical therapy and pain medications, HLA treatment may be the right course of action for you to get back to your regular activities without the pain.

What is Hyaluronic Acid?

A non-surgical, non-pharmacologic therapy for knee osteoarthritis. The goal of HLA is to supplement the poor quality hyaluronan (a natural substance in your joint cartilage and fluid) with additional, highly-purified hyaluronan. HLA therapy is an injectable solution made from highly purified sodium hyaluronate, extracted from rooster combs harvested from roosters that have been certified as suitable for human consumption via pre- and post-mortem veterinary inspection.

How does hyaluronic acid work?

HLA is a short injection process. The injection area is cleaned and then the HLA is injected directly into the knee joint space. Your doctor may ask you to avoid strenuous activities for a couple of days following the injection. Most patients experience little or no discomfort during the injection. If you’re concerned about the injection, talk to the doctor about ways to reduce any mild pain that may occur. HLA treatment is usually approved for 3-5 weekly injections.

How do I know if Hyaluronic Acid is right for me?

It may be right for you if your knee pain is due to osteoarthritis, you are not getting adequate pain relief from walking and/or physical therapy, and you are not getting adequate pain relief from pain medications.

Why may Hyaluronic Acid not be right for me?

HLA may not be recommended if you are allergic to products from birds, have infections or skin disease in the area in which the injection will be given, or have had any allergic reaction to HLA or similar therapies in the past.

What are the potential adverse effects?

In clinical trials reviewed by the FDA, the most common adverse events occurring in patients treated with HLA therapy were: Joint pain with no evidence of inflammation, Joint pain with evidence of inflammation, Back pain, Injection site reaction (pain/swelling/effusion/redness/warmth) and Headache. These adverse events also occurred at similar rates in patients treated with a saltwater placebo.

There is no reason to live with headaches. If you can even call suffering with headaches, “living”.

You would fix it if…

You wouldn’t put up living with any other unacceptable conditions would you?

If your car brakes were bad, you would get that fixed. If you had ants infesting your house, you would do something about it right?

Regular Headaches?

Despite drug company commercials telling you for years that there are “regular headaches”, or “everyday headaches”, these are NOT natural.

Did YOU get hit in the head?

Remember, the only time it would make sense to have a headache, would be because you just sustained an injury to the head!

Drugs don’t make headaches go away.

They don’t correct anything. They merely deaden your ability to feel the pain. And there are HUGE side effects from long term use of these over the counter as well as prescription drugs. Before you get another headache, go see a chiropractor & find out what can be done about it. Physical Therapy At Lifetime Health and Wellness, our physical medicine team is committed to delivering the best in patient-centered treatment. Our rehabilitation professionals deliver custom, one-on-one treatment so that they can treat your underlying condition in order to relieve your pain effectively and ensure that you live a long term pain-free life.

There are a number of physical conditions that can make performing even the most basic of daily tasks difficult.

Know that you may come in for an introductory offer to see if this is something you would like to pursue. Of course, no treatment of any kind would be done without your consent and the doctor accepting you as a patient first. A doctor of Chiropractic is the least invasive and most conservative type of doctor available. Check out this very effective, yet gentle option first. You owe it to yourself and those that count on you.

I Have Headaches! Is This the Right Place for Me?

Commercials Lie! Due to so many people complaining about headaches and all the commercials about headache pain and so forth, it is easy to forget that headaches are NOT normal.

“Normal” Headaches

There is no such thing as a “normal headache”. Do not confuse NORMAL with COMMON. It may be COMMON, but it doesn’t mean it is NORMAL to have a headache or any type of pain for that matter. That’s like saying bleeding, bruising, swelling and so forth is normal. These are all symptoms. A symptom is a sign of something.
